The unveiling of Apple’s latest smartphone has raised questions about its battery capacity given its slim profile. The physical constraints of the ‘thin-as-air’ design have prompted discussion among industry experts. Tim Cook, during his visit to the Corning factory, addressed the battery life of the iPhone Air. Cook was interviewed by CNBC’s Jim Cramer, where he discussed the new iPhone, AirPods features and Apple’s investments in Corning. Cook showed off the new iPhone 17 Pro, the iPhone Air, and the new live translation feature for AirPods. When asked about the battery life, he stated, ‘The battery life is great. You’re going to love the battery life. (…) We engineered it from the inside out. It’s eSIM-only. And so we were able to take the battery and extend the battery to areas that previously had the physical SIM. And so, it’s incredible innovation.’ The conversation also touched upon Apple’s investment in Corning, focusing on the transformation of the Harrodsburg factory. The project is part of Apple’s American Manufacturing Program, which will dedicate $600 billion over the next four years to domestic manufacturing initiatives and infrastructure.
