Make Calls Without a Mobile Network: BSNL Launches VoWiFi

BSNL has rolled out a new VoWiFi service, enabling users to place voice calls using a Wi-Fi connection, thus bypassing the need for a traditional mobile network. The service is currently accessible in selected areas, placing BSNL in direct competition with other telecom operators like Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone-Idea, which have already integrated similar Wi-Fi calling options. VoWiFi is especially advantageous in regions with limited mobile signal availability. To take advantage of the service, users must possess a smartphone with VoWiFi support, usually enabled through the settings menu. BSNL has confirmed that the VoWiFi service will be provided free of charge, eliminating any additional costs for users.
