WhatsApp regularly releases new features aimed at improving the user experience. Scheduled calls, which allow for pre-planning group calls, are one of the key features introduced this month. When users are invited to group or individual calls, they receive a notification just before the call begins.
A voicemail feature is being tested to boost the user experience. The feature was identified in the WhatsApp Android beta (v2.22.22.5). This voicemail feature will allow users to listen to recorded messages and reply when they have time. Apple implemented a similar voicemail function on iPhones in India earlier this year. Callers can record a short audio message for the recipient to listen to and respond to later. WhatsApp’s voicemail will operate similarly. Additionally, a voice call reminder feature is in development. This feature will enable users to set reminders to return missed calls, with preset options of 2 hours, 8 hours, and 24 hours, plus a custom setting to tailor the timing.
