Smartphone users of Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO, be aware that a number of older devices will no longer receive software updates. This means these devices are at their End-of-Life (EOL).
Xiaomi periodically issues an EOL list, detailing which devices will no longer receive software support. This recent list includes several popular smartphones from the Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO brands.
Xiaomi is developing HyperOS 3, and preparing to exclude older models from the support list to focus on the new HyperOS 3 software update, which is based on Android 16, starting with newer models such as Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro.
The EOL list includes: Xiaomi 11T, Xiaomi 11T Pro, Xiaomi 11 Lite LE, and Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE; Redmi 11 Prime 4G, Redmi A1+, and Redmi A1; and POCO M5 and POCO C50.
Security patches will continue until September 2025, but no new MIUI, HyperOS, or Android versions will be released. Many users haven’t received HyperOS 2 and are now completely without software support.
Xiaomi’s new HyperOS 3 is based on Android 16, but the company has not yet specified which smartphone models will receive it or when it will be released.
