
The Income Tax Department has launched two mobile applications, the ‘AIS App’ and the ‘Income Tax Department App,’ to aid taxpayers in filing their Income Tax Returns. The deadline for filing ITR has been extended to September 15th, offering taxpayers additional time to complete their returns. These user-friendly apps streamline the ITR filing process, making it easier for salaried individuals, pensioners, and small taxpayers.

**Easy Login:** Users can access the apps using their Aadhaar ID, PAN, and password.
**Pre-filled Data:** The apps provide pre-filled data from sources like banks and employers, within the Annual Information Statement and Taxpayer Information Summary, reducing manual data entry.
**Form Selection Assistance:** The apps help users choose the correct ITR form based on their income sources, like salary, pension, and capital gains.
**Data Correction and Addition:** Users can easily correct or add any missing or incorrect data, such as interest from fixed deposits or rental income.
**E-Verification and Submission:** The apps support e-verification via Aadhaar OTP, net banking, or digital signature, allowing for instant submission of the return. The apps are designed to simplify tax filing, making it more accessible and secure than ever before, especially for those seeking a mobile-first approach.
