The Trump Organization’s foray into the smartphone market with the Trump Mobile has hit a snag. The phone, touted as ‘Made in the USA,’ is now facing accusations of misleading claims regarding its features. The official website now features the tagline ‘Premium Performance, Proudly American,’ however, this is a smokescreen for the revelation that the initial specifications advertised by the company are inaccurate.
In a first for the smartphone industry, the company has altered the phone’s specifications after launch, even with pre-orders in progress. Specifically, details concerning the display and RAM, which were presented during the phone’s launch, have been quietly changed.
According to The Verge, the phone was originally advertised with a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen. However, updated information on the official website reveals a 6.25-inch screen instead. Further changes have been made regarding the RAM details. The initial launch details indicated that the phone would have 12GB of RAM, but this has since been removed from the company’s website.
Questions remain about the Trump Organization’s actions and the rationale behind providing incorrect information during the phone’s launch. Whatever the reason, it’s clear that the claims about the Trump Mobile were not entirely accurate. The company has not yet issued a formal response. Only when the phone is in the hands of consumers will the complete picture emerge.
