UIDAI is on the verge of launching the E Aadhaar mobile app, which will transform how users manage their Aadhaar details. This app, currently in the development stage, will enable users to complete four essential tasks associated with their Aadhaar cards using their mobile devices. The app will be available for both Android and Apple users. The exact release timeline is yet to be confirmed. The key features of the app include enabling users to update their name, address, date of birth, and mobile number directly via their smartphones. This eliminates the necessity of visiting Aadhaar centers for these specific updates, providing a significant benefit to the public. The UIDAI CEO, Bhuvanesh Kumar, stated that nearly 2,000 authentication devices have been upgraded to support the upcoming system. The app will also allow users to verify their identity more easily, doing away with the need to submit Aadhaar photocopies during hotel check-ins and the inconvenience of carrying physical cards during travel.
