WhatsApp continues to develop new features for its users, and the latest is aimed at enhancing the calling experience. A new feature has been introduced, enabling users to send voicemails immediately following a missed WhatsApp call. This functionality is similar to the conventional voicemail systems used by mobile networks, but now integrates seamlessly within the WhatsApp application.
How the New Voicemail Function Works:
When you call a contact on WhatsApp and the call goes unanswered, the ‘Leave Voicemail’ option will appear on your screen. By selecting this option, you can record a brief voice message. This message is sent to the recipient as a standard audio message. The recipient can listen to the voicemail as soon as they open WhatsApp.
Why This Feature Matters:
In the past, missing a call meant having to type out a message to explain the situation. Now, a voicemail can be sent with a single tap, making communication quicker and easier. This is particularly useful when the call is urgent or the recipient is unavailable.
This feature is currently undergoing beta testing and is expected to be launched on both iOS and Android platforms soon. If you don’t see this feature on your phone, it will become available in upcoming updates.
WhatsApp Status Sharing Enhancement
In a recent update to the WhatsApp beta, users can now share WhatsApp statuses from any third-party app. This eliminates the need for a separate update process. This feature is initially available for iOS beta users and is expected to be rolled out to all users later.
