WhatsApp has introduced an innovative AI feature, ‘Writing Help,’ to enhance user messaging. Developed by Meta, this feature uses Private Processing technology to provide suggestions for adjusting message tone and style, including options for professional, humorous, or supportive communication. This technology ensures user privacy, with neither Meta nor WhatsApp having access to the original messages or AI-generated suggestions. The feature is initially available in English within the U.S. and select nations, with expansion planned. Users can choose to activate ‘Writing Help’ in their settings. When composing a message, a pencil icon will appear, providing access to suggested revisions in different styles.
