WhatsApp is a leading instant messaging app because it provides users with an exceptional experience. This is achieved through a variety of helpful features. The app not only provides practical functions but also prioritizes user safety and privacy. WhatsApp offers encrypted chats for the privacy of millions of users and many great privacy features, including the Status Privacy feature.
Users often want to hide their status updates from certain people, allowing only specific contacts to view them. Some users want to hide their statuses from their colleagues, while others may want to hide them from relatives or select friends. To address this, WhatsApp includes a privacy setting that lets you control who views your status.
Configuring Status Privacy:
When sharing a status, you’ll see the word ‘Status’ to the left of the send button. Click on this option. After clicking, you’ll be presented with ‘Who Can See my Status Updates’, with three options to choose from.
The first is ‘My Contacts’, the second is ‘My Contacts Except’, and the third is ‘Only Share with’. If you want to hide your status from certain people, select the ‘My Contacts Except’ option, and then tap on the contacts you want to hide your status from.
This is the procedure when you’re about to share a status. If you wish to alter status privacy beforehand, launch WhatsApp. After that, click on the ‘Updates’ tab, which is located on the right side of the chats.
Here, you’ll need to click on the three dots in the top right corner. After clicking on the three dots, you’ll discover the status privacy option, where you can modify your settings before sharing your status.
