
Both Airtel and Jio, India’s leading telecom operators, have recently eliminated their lowest-cost plans. This decision is anticipated to raise their average revenue per user, but will ultimately raise prices for consumers. Following the lead, Vi has also made similar changes.
Airtel’s discontinued ₹249 plan offered 1 GB of daily data for a 28-day period. Jio’s discontinued plan, also priced competitively, provided the same 1 GB of data, unlimited calls, and access to Jio Cinema.
Airtel’s new entry-level plan is priced at ₹299. This plan offers 1 GB of daily data with unlimited calls, and lasts for 28 days. Subscribers also get a complimentary Perplexity AI subscription, worth ₹17,000, as well as spam call protection.
Airtel also offers a ₹349 plan, giving 1.5 GB of daily data, unlimited calls, for a 28-day duration. This plan features a free Perplexity AI subscription worth ₹17,000, along with Airtel’s spam call protection.
Jio’s new entry-level plan is priced at ₹299, providing 1 GB of daily data and unlimited calls, for 28 days. The plan also includes free subscriptions to Jio TV and Jio Cloud, cumulatively valued at ₹2,999, plus Jio’s spam call protection.
Jio’s ₹349 plan provides 2 GB of daily data, unlimited calls, and 28-day validity. It includes free Jio TV and Jio Cloud subscriptions worth ₹2,999, along with Jio’s spam call protection.
