Microsoft is poised to enhance the Windows 11 user experience with a new series of AI features integrated through Copilot. One of the key features is Copilot Vision, enabling the system to analyze screen content, potentially making it easier to manage documents like bills without relying on separate imaging and emailing steps.
The rollout of these features will be phased, gradually reaching all users. Some features will be exclusive to Copilot Plus PCs. Copilot Vision will be accessible via the Copilot app, allowing users to query the AI about on-screen content across apps and webpages. Users can also use Copilot for PC tasks, like adjusting image lighting.
A Microsoft-commissioned report indicates widespread adoption of AI. About 60% of users utilize generative AI for business and work, and about 64% use it for personal hobbies like creative projects. Microsoft intends to make everyday PC tasks easier by incorporating AI capabilities. Users with Snapdragon-powered Copilot Plus PCs will be able to access the AI agent through the Settings app.
An additional feature is the AI-powered “Click to Do” preview, accessible for Copilot Plus PCs, which allows users to perform functions such as summarizing text and improving reading capabilities. Further updates include the addition of an AI sticker generator in Paint, an object select tool, an AI lighting adjustment option in Photos, and an AI-driven screenshot tool. The release of these enhancements, expected in August, will also include non-AI-related upgrades, like a color picker for the Snipping Tool, as well as an attempt to fix the unexpected restart issue.
