Afghan forces have released footage showcasing captured Pakistani military trousers and uniforms, a stark visual following intense border skirmishes. The conflict was ignited by Pakistani airstrikes deep inside Afghanistan, reportedly targeting TTP militants. These actions were met with strong retaliation from Afghan forces.
Afghan troops launched significant counter-attacks against Pakistani military outposts situated along the Durand Line. Official reports from Afghanistan claim the neutralization of over fifty Pakistani soldiers during these engagements. Further compounding the situation, Afghan forces seized considerable military equipment, including tanks and weapons, alongside the soldiers’ personal uniforms and trousers.
The viral video of the displayed captured items underscores the severity of the recent confrontations. In response to the military setbacks, Pakistan has announced a 48-hour ceasefire, citing a desire for peaceful resolution through dialogue. Sources within the Taliban government suggest this ceasefire was enacted following a request from Pakistan. Afghanistan’s foreign ministry has reiterated its stance on not seeking conflict but warned of alternative strategies should Pakistan not pursue peaceful coexistence. Afghanistan maintains its denial of utilizing its territory for any anti-Pakistan activities.
