Following a report in the Daily Mail concerning the identification of victims from the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has stated that it is actively cooperating with the UK authorities to address any concerns. The MEA’s response, delivered by Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, emphasized the use of established protocols and technical guidelines in identifying the victims. Furthermore, the ministry assured the public that all mortal remains were handled with the utmost care and respect for the deceased. The Daily Mail report raised questions regarding potential errors in identification, including instances where families were given the incorrect remains. The crash of the London-bound flight AI-171 on June 12 claimed 260 lives. Authorities used DNA sampling and facial recognition to identify the bodies and return them to the families.
