
President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin met in Alaska for discussions aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The talks were described as highly productive and respectful, focusing on ending the war. Despite the positive tone, President Trump stated that no final agreement was reached during the meeting. President Putin noted the talks were comprehensive and beneficial, indicating Russia’s strong interest in resolving the conflict while highlighting important considerations. Following a three-hour discussion, the leaders addressed a joint press conference. The Ukraine conflict has resulted in numerous casualties since February 2022. Trump indicated that progress had been made, but the final deal was not yet agreed upon. Putin hoped that the summit’s outcomes would contribute to peace in Ukraine and encouraged support from Kyiv and European capitals.
