The Arab League has reacted with strong criticism to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s backing of the ‘Greater Israel’ concept. During an Israeli television interview, Netanyahu revealed his support for the idea. Arab nations have responded with condemnation, viewing the remarks as an assault on their sovereignty. Jordan, an ally of Israel, also criticized Netanyahu, calling for an end to expansionist plans. The League released a statement on Tuesday, asserting that the remarks represent a serious threat to collective Arab national security and a clear violation of international law and principles. The statements were also viewed as reflecting expansionist and aggressive intentions, which the League cannot accept, viewing them as a product of an extremist mindset rooted in colonial ambitions. Egypt has also condemned statements made in some Israeli media regarding the ‘Greater Israel’ concept, while maintaining its commitment to achieving peace in the Middle East. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called for official clarification of these statements, noting the potential for destabilization.
