At the international book fair in Baghdad, the book ‘Palestinian Referendum’ was introduced, supporting Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s call for a referendum to resolve the Palestinian issue. Khamenei suggested that the demand for a referendum could be enforced on Israel.
The book highlights three key principles: ensuring the return of non-native residents to their original countries, granting voting rights to all Palestinians irrespective of their religious beliefs (Muslim, Christian, or Jewish), and maintaining the struggle until Israel concedes to the Palestinian people.
On social media platform X, Khamenei asserted that any plan for Palestine that disregards the will of the Palestinians is doomed to fail. The decision on governance should also reflect the views of the Palestinian people, with a referendum seeking opinions from all Palestinians.
Khamenei also emphasized the necessity of including the voices of those who were forcibly displaced from Palestine in the process, irrespective of their religion. They should have the right to determine who governs their homeland. The Palestinian people should continue their political and military efforts to secure their rights, and, according to Khamenei, sustained resistance can compel the Israeli government to accept this demand.
The Arabic translation of the book was launched with the presence of Prof. Sayyed Jasim Al-Jazairi, Mohammad Al-Hafi from Hamas, Iranian Deputy Ambassador Dr. Aziz Panah, former commander of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Sheikh Abu Aqeel Al-Kazimi, Dr. Mohammad Akhghari, the father of martyr Ahmad Al-Muhanna, and the injured Gazan woman Asmahan Jumah. The book’s Arabic version was released on Saturday.
