A mosque in Peacehaven, Britain, was the target of an arson attack on Saturday night, leading to the deaths of two elderly men present in the building. Authorities are investigating the incident as a hate crime. The attack involved two masked individuals who attempted to enter the mosque, then ignited petrol poured on the doors, stairs, and the chairman’s taxi. The chairman and his companion, both in their sixties, were inside having tea. This mosque, which was built four years ago, usually welcomes 10-15 people for daily prayers. Liberal Democrat MP James Macleary condemned the attack, calling it an assault on the community. Police have increased security around the mosque and nearby areas. The incident follows a fatal attack outside a synagogue in Manchester.
