President Xi Jinping expressed his delight in meeting PM Modi, welcoming him to the SCO summit. He referenced their successful meeting in Kazan the previous year.
Xi Jinping highlighted the evolving global landscape and the importance of cooperation between China and India, which are both ancient civilizations and among the world’s most populous countries, as well as significant members of the Global South. He underlined the necessity of fostering friendly and neighborly relations, promoting the collaboration of the ‘Dragon and the Elephant.’
PM Modi stressed the importance of peace and stability on the border, mutual cooperation, and stronger relations. He expressed his appreciation for the welcome and mentioned the positive impact of their previous discussions in Kazan. The meeting also touched upon border management and the potential resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
