A team of scientists from both the United States and China have engineered a method to convert hazardous plastic waste directly into petrol. This technology has achieved a remarkable success rate, exceeding 95%. A key advantage of this process is its ability to function at room temperature, thereby reducing the need for complex machinery or substantial energy input. This is the first successful demonstration of converting mixed plastic waste into petrol in a single step, executed at normal temperature and pressure.
