India is poised to receive a boost in its defense capabilities as Russia has proposed a plan that includes the supply and local production of Su-57 fighter jets. Simultaneously, the delivery of five S-400 “Triumf” surface-to-air missile systems is expected by 2026. Dmitry Shugayev, head of Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, indicated that discussions regarding new deliveries are ongoing. India had previously entered into a $5.5 billion deal with Russia in 2018 for five S-400 systems, with the remaining units scheduled for delivery in the coming years. These advanced missile systems are vital for enhancing India’s air defense against potential threats from neighboring countries.
