
Donald Trump recently made comments at the United Nations General Assembly, raising concerns about the potential implementation of Sharia law in London. He criticized London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, in his remarks. Sharia law is the religious law of Islam, derived from the Quran and Hadith.
The Muslim population in London is significant, representing 15% of the city’s population, or 1.3 million individuals, based on 2021 data. Across Europe, approximately one in sixteen individuals is Muslim. According to a study, Europe’s population in 2020 was around 753 million, a slight increase since 2010. The number of Christians has declined. Additionally, there has been growth in the number of people unaffiliated with any religion, while the Muslim population has grown to about 6%, or 46 million people.
