Kolkata police have arrested Shanta Paul, a Bangladeshi national who worked as a model and actor, for allegedly using fake documents to reside in India. The investigation revealed that Paul had been using counterfeit documents, including an Aadhaar card, PAN card, and Voter ID, to rent properties in Kolkata. She is also reported to have entered into a digital marriage with Sahik Mohammad Ashraf from Andhra Pradesh. Paul entered India in 2023 through a valid passport and was subsequently able to rent a flat using the forged documents. The police seized various documents from her possession, including airline ID and two different Aadhaar cards registered in Kolkata and Bardhaman.
