The FBI has successfully captured Cindy Rodriguez Singh in India, a woman listed among the “Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitives.” Singh faces accusations of murdering her six-year-old son, Rodriguez Alvarez. Law enforcement in Texas had issued a warrant for capital murder, a charge related to the killing of a child under ten years of age, along with charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. The arrest was a result of joint efforts between US and Indian authorities, prompted by an Interpol red notice issued on October 3, 2024. According to FBI Director Kash Patel, this arrest highlights that criminals cannot outrun justice. The case began when the Everman Police Department in Texas conducted a welfare check on March 20, 2023, at the child’s home. It was found that the child had not been seen since October 2022. The child had serious health problems, including lung disease and bone issues. Singh allegedly misled authorities, claiming her son was with his father in Mexico. However, this claim was found to be false. On March 22, 2023, Singh, her husband, and six other children fled to India. It was later confirmed that the son was not with them. She was added to the FBI’s Most Wanted list in July 2023.
