
Amit Kshatriya, a robotics engineer of Indian descent, has been promoted to Associate Administrator at NASA. His career at NASA spans over twenty years, during which he has held various roles, including leading the ‘Moon to Mars Program.’ In this capacity, he played a key role in shaping the agency’s approach to human space exploration. Kshatriya also contributed to the Artemis campaign, managing the planning and execution of lunar missions. His new position involves spearheading NASA’s efforts to return to the Moon. He is a graduate of the California Institute of Technology and the University of Texas at Austin and holds the distinction of being among the few to serve as a Mission Control Flight Director. His work at NASA began in 2003, focusing on the robotic assembly of the International Space Station, and he has been recognized with several accolades, including the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal.
