Israel is moving forward with its objective to occupy all of Gaza. With 75% of Gaza already under its control, the Israeli army has finalized a strategy to secure the remaining areas. This involves regions with high population density, where displaced Gazans are facing severe shortages of basic necessities. The Israeli ground forces will coordinate with the air force to push into new areas, intensifying pressure on Hamas.
Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, the IDF Chief of Staff, has outlined the scope of the ground forces set to take part in the upcoming Gaza City operation. Approximately 100,000 Israeli soldiers are slated to manage the 41km by 12km Gaza Strip. This equates to a deployment of about 273 soldiers for every kilometer of occupied territory.
