The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported the killing of Ramzi Ramadan Abd Ali Saleh, commander of Hamas’ Naval Force in the northern Gaza Strip, in an airstrike in Gaza City. The IDF stated that Saleh was a key source of information within the Hamas organization and played a role in planning maritime attacks. The strike also resulted in the elimination of Hisham Ayman Atiya Mansour and Nissim Muhammad Suleiman Abu Sabha. The IDF underscored that precision weapons were used in the strike and that measures were taken to reduce risks to civilians. The announcement came as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was set to meet with US President Donald Trump. There are reports of a potential 60-day ceasefire that may include the release of hostages and bodies, along with the exchange of Palestinian prisoners, with the US, Egypt, and Qatar as potential guarantors.
