In response to escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is taking proactive measures to safeguard Indian citizens. The Indian Embassy in Tehran is closely monitoring the security situation and has initiated the relocation of Indian students to safer locations within Iran. This action comes as the conflict enters its third day, marked by repeated strikes.
The MEA is also assessing additional safety options and collaborating with community leaders. The ministry’s statement confirms these efforts: “The Indian Embassy in Tehran is continuously monitoring the security situation and engaging Indian students in Iran to ensure their safety. In some cases, students are being relocated with the Embassy’s facilitation to safer places within Iran. Other feasible options are also under examination. Separately, the Embassy is in touch with community leaders regarding welfare and safety.”
Simultaneously, the Indian Embassy in Israel has issued an advisory, urging the Indian community to stay vigilant and adhere to safety protocols. The advisory stresses the importance of avoiding unnecessary movement and following guidelines from Israeli authorities. The embassy is working closely with the Indian community and Israeli officials to provide support and ensure safety.
