
India has voiced its commitment to supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at bringing an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as stated at the United Nations. India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Parvathaneni Harish, expressed India’s concern over the situation in Ukraine, highlighting the importance of protecting innocent lives. India holds the view that the conflict cannot be resolved through military means. India has continually asserted that dialogue and diplomacy are the only pathways to resolving the conflict, irrespective of the challenges. The participation and commitment of both nations are essential for achieving enduring peace. A swift conclusion to the conflict is in the best interest of all parties involved. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has previously stated that this is not an era of war, and India is prepared to support diplomatic initiatives towards this end. India welcomes the positive developments in this direction, including the summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. India also appreciates the progress made at the Alaska Summit. Furthermore, India commends the diplomatic efforts of Trump with the Ukrainian President and European leaders in Washington D.C. Prime Minister Modi remains in communication with President Putin, President Zelensky, and European leaders concerning the current situation.
