Israeli forces have detained five French activists and other international volunteers, including Greta Thunberg, after intercepting a ship carrying aid bound for Gaza. The ship, the Madleen, was stopped in international waters and redirected to Ashdod port. French officials confirmed the arrests and stated the activists will appear before an Israeli court. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which organized the mission, said the ship was ‘attacked’ in international waters while attempting to deliver aid to Gaza. The aid included baby formula, food, and medical supplies. Activists reported that the ship was sprayed with a white substance, had its communications disrupted, and faced disturbing audio broadcasts.
