Reports indicate that Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian sustained minor leg injuries during an alleged Israeli air strike. The attack targeted a meeting of the Supreme National Security Council in Tehran on June 15. A senior Iranian official confirmed the incident, revealing that the attack was aimed at the heads of the Iranian government’s three branches, with the goal of removing them from power. The entrances and exits of the building were reportedly struck by six missiles to block escape routes. Despite the damage, officials, including the president, were able to escape through a pre-designated emergency exit. Iranian authorities are now investigating how the attackers obtained such accurate intelligence. Pezeshkian, in a recent interview, claimed that Israel attempted to assassinate him. The attack follows an earlier bombing campaign and resulted in a response from Iran and a subsequent ceasefire.
