Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has signaled a decisive response to threats from the United States, promising that any “oppressive aggression” will be met with a “harsh and regrettable” reaction. This statement serves as a direct riposte to United States President Donald Trump’s recent warnings regarding Iran’s nuclear program and ballistic missile development. Trump had explicitly threatened to “knock hell out of them” if Iran pursued these advancements. This verbal exchange follows a period of heightened military activity, with the U.S. having conducted strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities in July, reportedly utilizing B-2 stealth bombers to undermine Tehran’s nuclear capabilities. The U.S. leader had hailed these operations as successful. The ongoing tensions are unfolding against the backdrop of complex Gaza ceasefire talks, a diplomatic effort that President Trump has been actively involved in. Washington has also reaffirmed its security commitment to Israel, indicating a readiness for swift action should Iran cross certain thresholds in its nuclear or missile programs.
