Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, has responded to President Trump, insisting that the US president must use a more respectful approach towards Iran’s Supreme Leader, Khamenei, if Washington seeks a deal. Araghchi noted Iran’s firm opposition to any form of threat or insult, and indicated that Iran would not hesitate to unveil its true capabilities. He conveyed the enduring strength of Iranians through the metaphor of intricate carpets, woven with patience and skill. In an online statement, he said, ‘If President Trump is genuine about wanting a deal, he should put aside the disrespectful and unacceptable tone towards Iran’s Supreme Leader, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, and stop hurting his millions of heartfelt followers.’ These comments emerge against a backdrop of diplomatic efforts from the US, with the White House indicating continued dialogue with Iran. The US is aiming for a peaceful resolution and agreement on a non-enrichment civil nuclear program, facilitated by partners such as Qatar. This diplomacy follows US military actions.
