A significant point of concern is the rapid growth of the Muslim population in Britain. Over the past 25 years, the Muslim population has doubled. In 2001, there were only 1.6 million Muslims in Britain, comprising 3% of the total population. Today, there are 4 million Muslims, making up 6.5% of the population. Projections suggest that by 2050, the Muslim population will reach 14 million, or 17.2% of the total population. According to the 2011 census, the Muslim population was 2.7 million, which increased to over 3.9 million in the 2021 census—a rise of more than 1.2 million within a decade. The Times, UK, reports that Britain has 85 Sharia courts, the highest number in the Western world.
In 2024, over 6,300 cases of anti-Muslim hate were recorded, a 43% increase compared to 2023. It is estimated that the Muslim population in major cities like London and Birmingham has reached between 15% and 20%. Right-wing activist Tommy Robinson organized the recent protest in London, citing these statistics.
