In a targeted strike, the Israeli Air Force eliminated Haytham Abdullah Bakri, the head of the “Al-Sadiq” Currency Exchange in southern Lebanon, a key financial operative for Hezbollah. According to the IDF, Bakri facilitated the transfer of funds from Iran’s Quds Force to Hezbollah, playing a central role in their financial operations. The IDF stated that these funds were used to purchase weapons, support manufacturing, pay salaries, and fund terrorist activities. The IDF emphasized that the strike was based on precise intelligence and is part of a wider effort to disrupt Iran’s financial support for its regional allies. The IDF also mentioned the elimination of Behnam Shahriyari, commander of the Quds Force’s Unit 190, responsible for moving substantial funds to Iranian-backed militias. This operation underscores Israel’s commitment to countering Iranian influence in the region.
