A Chinese climber, Guan Jing, has died while descending from K2, the second-highest mountain in the world. The mountaineer had successfully completed the climb and reached the summit on Monday. However, tragedy struck on Tuesday when falling rocks fatally injured him during his descent. K2, situated in the Karakoram range in Pakistan, is a formidable peak, rising to 8,611 meters (28,251 feet). It is known for its hazardous climbing conditions, characterized by steep terrain, unpredictable weather changes, and frequent rockslides. This sad event comes shortly after the passing of Laura Dahlmeier, a German mountaineer and Olympic gold medalist, who died while climbing another peak in the same region just two weeks earlier.
