Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attacks, highlighting the loss of life and injuries caused. He took to X to share the situation, describing the efforts of first responders and extending his condolences. Zelenskyy called for a more assertive international reaction, focusing on China, which has advocated for a ceasefire, and Hungary. He emphasized the expectation of a response from China, given its previous calls for peace, and from Hungary, considering the death of a child. The strike, which hit a residential building in the Darnytskyi district, caused significant damage, potentially trapping residents. Zelenskyy viewed the attacks as a response to calls for diplomacy, accusing Russia of choosing violence over negotiation. He urged for more severe sanctions against Russia, citing the failure of diplomatic attempts and demanded Russia be held accountable for the attacks and the war’s continuation.
