The security establishment in India is reportedly on high alert following serious accusations about the state of counter-terrorism in Bangladesh. Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has revealed that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) is allegedly running operations from Bangladeshi soil. He further asserted that these operations have direct links to recent terrorist incidents that occurred in Delhi. Wazed contends that the current government has released tens of thousands of individuals previously imprisoned for militant activities, effectively dismantling the counter-terror framework established by his mother. These revelations suggest a potential resurgence of militant groups and a worrying shift in regional security dynamics. The allegations also include claims of Pakistan’s ISI providing arms to infiltrators during recent protests, adding another layer of complexity to the escalating crisis. The situation underscores the urgent need for a robust response to prevent further radicalization and cross-border terror threats.
