Tyler Robinson, suspected of the shooting of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, is now in custody. Sources suggest that upon confrontation by his father, Robinson contemplated suicide instead of surrendering. Utah Governor Spencer Cox officially announced the arrest and confirmed Robinson’s involvement in the shooting.
The investigation quickly intensified with the discovery of a palm print, a rifle, and shoe sole impressions. Governor Cox, accompanied by FBI Chief Kash Patel, provided details of the arrest. A family member of Robinson reached out to a family friend, leading to a report to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with information suggesting Robinson had confessed. The family member recalled a conversation during which Robinson criticized Kirk and discussed his visit to Utah. Robinson’s roommate also provided messages from Discord that revealed Robinson’s statements about stashing a rifle. Patel later verified Robinson’s arrest, which took place around 10 pm local time on September 11. Kirk was shot in the neck during a campus event at Utah Valley University.
