The death sentence for Nimisha Priya, an Indian nurse, has been cancelled in Yemen. The office of Indian Grand Mufti Kanthapuram AP Abubakker Musliyar confirmed the decision. Priya was convicted of murder and her execution was scheduled. The Indian government, however, intervened, with the MEA providing legal support and exploring clemency options. Priya’s case involves a complex legal situation in Yemen, where she had worked in private hospitals. The situation began with a relationship with a Yemeni citizen who later manipulated her business and personal life.
