Widespread flooding has emerged in Pakistan due to relentless heavy rainfall, causing substantial damage across various regions. The Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara is entirely underwater, with the water level significantly high. A large number of people, mostly staff, are trapped within the flooded gurudwara. Authorities are working to rescue those affected, utilizing boats and a helicopter for evacuation. The collapse of the Dhesi embankment near the Kartarpur Corridor is considered a major factor contributing to the severity of the flooding. The corridor, which facilitates access to the Gurudwara, was established in 2019 and lies close to the border with India.
