Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse, the Chief of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), was fired by the Pentagon on August 22. This decision was made shortly after the DIA released a preliminary report that reportedly conflicted with President Trump’s claim that US strikes in June had destroyed Iran’s nuclear facilities. This is not an isolated incident, as other high-ranking officials have also been removed from their positions. Senator Mark Warner of Virginia, a key figure on the Senate Intelligence Committee, has expressed concern, stating that the dismissal indicates a pattern within the administration of prioritizing political alignment over accurate intelligence analysis.
