The US government has released details of its strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, including video footage. During a news conference, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Gen. Den Caine discussed the planning and execution of the attacks. A US official stated that 12 bunker-buster bombs were utilized in the strikes, with General Caine presenting test footage.
Hegseth refuted claims that the strikes were unsuccessful, asserting that they destroyed the targeted locations. The Pentagon showcased videos explaining the bombs’ operational design. Gen. Caine outlined the mechanisms of damage: blast, fragmentation, and overpressure.
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has confirmed that the strikes severely damaged Iran’s key nuclear facilities, requiring years to rebuild. This confirmation followed reports suggesting minimal damage from the strikes. The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) had initially suggested the attacks only caused a temporary disruption. President Trump announced the media briefing to address reports the administration viewed as misleading.
