The Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, initiated a two-day visit to India, engaging in discussions with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Delhi. Wang underscored the importance of learning from the past and fostering a strategic outlook that recognizes both nations as partners, rather than adversaries. He further highlighted the potential for mutual strengthening through the resurgence of their respective civilizations, thereby contributing to stability in Asia and globally.
In addition to discussions with Jaishankar, Wang is scheduled to meet with India’s National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, to address border-related matters. This meeting will be followed by a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. PM Modi is also preparing for a two-day visit to China, where he will participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting.
