Elizaveta Krivonogikh, the alleged secret daughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has broken her silence to address the war in Ukraine. In a social media post, 22-year-old Elizaveta, also known as Luiza Rozova, didn’t explicitly name Putin, but referenced the individual she blames for the destruction of her life. She also implicated this person in the war, writing that his actions have ruined the lives of millions.
Currently a fine arts student in Paris, Luiza has previously kept a low profile. In a series of cryptic posts, she targeted Putin without directly mentioning him, writing about finding it freeing to show her face again, as it reminds her of who she is and who destroyed her life.
Luiza, born in St. Petersburg in 2003, is believed to be the result of an affair between Putin and Svetlana Krivonogikh. Information regarding her paternity became public in 2020. Reports suggested that her mother’s wealth increased substantially after Luiza’s birth, leading to speculation that Putin provided financial support.
Before the conflict, Luiza’s social media showed a life of privilege, traveling the world on private jets. However, her accounts were deactivated before the war started. She moved to Paris and graduated from the ICART School of Cultural and Art Management in June 2024. After leaving Russia, she shared her sadness on a Telegram channel, expressing her inability to revisit St. Petersburg and her favorite places.
Luiza is reportedly working at art galleries in Paris, L’Gallery and Espace Albatros, which host anti-war exhibitions. Her role includes assisting with the organization of shows and video production. However, her efforts to gain acceptance within Parisian dissident circles have faced resistance.
Artist Nastya Rodionova, who fled Russia in 2022, recently announced severing ties with the galleries connected to Luiza. Rodionova stated that while children are not responsible for their parents’ actions, it is inappropriate to be associated with individuals connected to Putin’s regime, given the ongoing war. Luiza has responded, questioning whether she is responsible for her family’s actions.
Defending Luiza, gallery manager Dmitry Dolinsky acknowledged the physical resemblance to Putin but emphasized that she is a good employee. In 2023, Luiza’s mother, Svetlana, was sanctioned by the UK, and was also mentioned by Russian media as being among Putin’s close associates.
