Rongjiang County in southwest China’s Guizhou Province is currently battling severe flooding, forcing authorities to implement the highest-level emergency flood response. The Duliu River’s water level, monitored at the Shihuichang Hydrological Station, has significantly exceeded safe limits. The local flood control headquarters has increased the emergency response to Level I, the most critical level in China’s alert system. More than 41,574 people from almost 12,000 households have been evacuated. Over 1,000 soldiers, aided by heavy machinery like excavators and bulldozers, are engaged in relief efforts. The National Development and Reform Commission has allocated a considerable amount of funds to assist with disaster relief in Guizhou Province. The severe flooding, which started on June 24 due to consistent rainstorms, has led to casualties.
