European tensions are increasing as a result of drone activity linked to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Poland responded by mobilizing both Polish and allied aircraft, closing an airport in Lublin. This action follows the recent downing of Russian drones in Polish airspace. Across the border, Romania also deployed fighter jets after a drone entered its airspace. This occurred during a Russian attack on Ukrainian infrastructure near the Romanian border. The Polish military’s Operational Command, stated that ground air defense and reconnaissance systems were on high alert, the purpose being the protection of Polish airspace and the citizens’ safety. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that a Russian drone entered Romanian airspace, flying approximately 10 kilometers into Romanian territory for around 50 minutes.
