
Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, serving as mission pilot on the Ax-4 mission, shared his initial experiences in space during a live update from the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft. Shukla described the launch as an exceptional experience, focusing on the sensation of weightlessness. He said he was thrilled to be with his fellow astronauts. Recounting the moment of launch, Shukla said it was something else entirely. Shukla also expressed his gratitude towards the mission team, highlighting the achievement as a collective effort. The team is composed of astronauts from multiple countries and will be docking with the ISS for up to 14 days. The Ax-4 mission includes experiments related to the growth of edible microalgae and the survival of aquatic microorganisms. The mission is a significant moment for India, with Shukla following in the path of Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian in space. Shukla also sent a message back home to India filled with pride.
