Amidst the escalating civil war in Sudan, Adarsh Behera, an Indian expatriate residing in the country, has reportedly been abducted by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Behera, 36, from Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district, was taken in Al Fashir, a significant city recently fallen to RSF control. He had been working at the Sukarati Plastic Factory for three years and is the father of two young sons. His family, particularly his wife, is deeply distressed by the news. Reports suggest Behera may have been moved to Nyala, another RSF-held territory. The abduction comes at a time when Al Fashir was the last remaining RSF stronghold in Darfur. A video clip circulating online offers a chilling glimpse into the ordeal, showing Behera with RSF personnel. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Sudan and the dangers faced by those caught in the conflict.
