Taiwan is actively preparing to acquire a large-scale drone force within the next two years, with the intention of deterring potential aggression from China. The plan involves the purchase of around 50,000 drones, representing a considerable investment in modern defense technologies. Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense is spearheading this procurement drive, with the Armaments Bureau slated to receive a large number of new drones in 2026 and 2027. The drone fleet will encompass various platforms and capabilities, demonstrating Taiwan’s commitment to adapting its defense strategies in the face of increasing regional tensions.
